If you are anything like me, then you have an ever growing bucket list. From places to go, landmarks to see, and food to eat. And, if you are really like me, then it always seems like you are adding to your bucket list, but never actually crossing things off.
So this year I came up with a solution! I decided that I was going to cross one big thing off my bucket list a year, since most of the bigger things tend to be more expensive. Then, for every season, I wanted to make a smaller bucket list. Things I wanted to see, as well as small trips throughout Utah. It has been so much fun making the most of each season and rediscovering Utah. Even now I can picture “seize the day” from newsies!
One of my good friends, Mallory, is great at making a “Summer Bucket List” with her kids. They come up with a huge list of things to do all summer long and they are always having so much fun. I have always wanted to go see hot air balloons take off. They have a couple festivals in Utah and I thought I had missed them all. Mallory and I go to the gym often together, so she told me about this hot air balloon festival that was happening in Sandy, UT one morning. So we both woke up early and made it to see them blow up! If you know me, you know I am not a morning person, but it was so worth it to wake up early to see this. It was almost magical! (She also has an amazing traveling instagram and they go everywhere! It gives me serious wanderlust vibes.)
It is for events like this that I am so glad I don’t let my bucket list sit, and I really “seize the day”. I love to add things that don’t even cost money, like this hot air balloon festival. I start by googling and researching local events for each season. So I can get an idea of what I want to add to my bucket list that season. I have just barely started getting ready for fall and can’t wait to share all the fun things we will be doing!
What is one thing that you have on your bucket list that you are going to do this year?
