Happy Monday!
Did you get to watch the Super Bowl yesterday? Do you watch it for the commercials, half time show, or the actual game?? We usually get together with my family every year and watch the show together. For the past couple years we have hosted the Super Bowl party at our house with lots of yummy food! I’ll be honest, I was actually looking forward to what was after the Super Bowl: This Is Us *cue the tears.* If you watch this as well, we need to get together and have a long brunch!
I have been excited to share this dress for Valentines! I have actually had it for a couple years and it is such a classy red dress. I actually have done a previous blog post featuring this dress around Christmas time last year. I love a good red dress, and as you probably already know, red is one of my favorite colors to wear. It just makes me feel so bold, confident and empowered. No wonder red is a power color!
Let’s talk about confidence in color for a minute. It took me a long time to get to where I feel comfortable wearing bold colors, such as red. My wardrobe has changed drastically over the years, but with it so has my confidence. I use to shy away from wearing red, or bright colors in general, because I was afraid it was too bold and made me stand out too much. Now I love wearing bold colors! It took stepping out of my comfort zone to get where I am today. I feel like I can rock the red any day of the week! I started small, a red scarf, or a red lip. Now I can’t get enough of red! Red lip, red dress, red shoes, red bag? No problem.
Whenever I am feeling like I need a boost, or am feeling extra confident, I throw on some red! It definitely boosts my confidence to a 10! I feel like it is super important for everyone to have a color or outfit that they feel confident in. Once you step out of your comfort zone to try a bold color, the easier it becomes. Granted, half of wearing a bold color is a mental game. I started to associate red with confidence, so whenever I wore red, I felt confident! So once you start to associate a certain color with confidence or power, you will start to feel that when you wear it!
So this Valentine’s I challenge you to be bold!
I bought this dress at H&M in late 2016, but I have linked all my favorite alternative dresses you can snag for Valentines!
xo,
Sara
